IELTS training. Ethan. 29 August 2026, 2pm-4pm Summary: We began by discussing the student's school assignments. We looked through a variety of iGCSE exercises, focusing on both reading comprehension and writing. The main focus was a task that involved the reading of a passage from a book (fiction). There was then an essay question that required an analysis of the language used by the author. We identified language used in the key paragraphs together and highlighted phrases that created effects and conveyed meaning. The use of imagery was detailed in particular. We planned how each point would be included in the essay, and how the word count would be met. We also looked at some of the other test questions on the paper. Reading - we moved on to an iGCSE reading comprehension exercise, it featured an article about the fast food industry. We read through the article and focused on vocabulary. Comprehension questions were worked on by the student. Homework: complete comprehension questions and do writing task about documentaries.
